Job Title: Senior Audio Visual Commissioning Engineer

Job Description: Main Purpose of the role the Commissioning Engineer will work in the commissioning stage of AV installation projects reporting to the Project Manager. They will be able to communicate directly with clients and their representatives to help deliver the project to a high-quality conclusion. They should be willing to work away from home for short periods of time as the company's customer base largely covers the South East, but can extend across the UK, and into Europe. They will be expected to present themselves in a professional manner, and have excellent communication skills.
Main Responsibilities:
1) Testing, snagging and handover of AV Systems to ensure delivery to the required quality levels. • Projection and display equipment • Multi-room DSP audio • Video and audio conferencing • Crestron and other systems • HDBaseT distribution • IT Networks
2) Training clients on the operation of the systems installed and get client sign-off.
3) Ensure commissioning, training and sign-off records are obtained and filed appropriately.
4) Daily communication with Project Manager to ensure timely and accurate recording of job progression, snagging, times and mileage and reporting of any issues.
5) Ensure that Health & Safety and security procedures are always followed.
6) Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of technical information.
7) Provide a detailed handover to the Service & Support team
8) Any other duties as required by your line manager
Qualification and Experience:
Prior installation, servicing or commissioning experience in both commercial audio-visual
installations. Successful applicants will have solid engineering knowledge combined with
record-keeping, communication and organisational skills.
Key Skills & Achievements
Desired, although not required, it would be an advantage to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the Audio-Visual industry.
- Degree-level education in a practical engineering degree.
- Excellent understanding of integrated Audio Visual systems including distribution over Wi-Fi and wired networks.
- Crestron and AMX programming skills.
- Excellent knowledge of basic engineering practices: cable termination, crimping, soldering, first-fix cabling, second-fix installation, computer networking skills, fault finding and configuration of equipment using software AVIXA-CEDIA-KNX qualifications.
- Product knowledge: Crestron, AMX, Extron, Lutron, Polycom, Cisco.
- Based in the London area, Berks or Bucks, M40, M4, M3 corridors.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, with good interpersonal skills.
- Hold a site safety accreditation CSCS-ECS-SSSTS etc.
- Full clean driving license (minor points will be considered).
- Must be physically fit.
- Ability to maintain a professional attitude under pressure.
- Ability to work from schematics, terminating sheets, site plans and project drawings.
