- Build and drivethe Sustainability strategy for pladis globally
- Turn pladis into an environmentally responsible business e.g., from HQ through to all our operations
- Partner with the Corporate Affairs and Communications team to build a clear Communications strategy for the agenda

Through direction and collaboration work with the Business Regions build plans that can bring the strategy to life
- With support from the Technical Workstream leaders, create and deploy pladis’ sustainability road maps in the areas of sourcing (palm oil, cocoa, wheat) plastic packaging and decarbonisation.
- Ensure that pladis regions deploy their 2022/2025 local sustainability roadmaps meet specific requirements coming from regulators, customers, or past commitments. This means ensuring that proper governance and that there are regular update/review of progress presented to local senior management teams (including MDs).

Embed a culture of sustainability thinking across pladis, at all levels
- Educate and engage colleagues across pladis on the strategic importance of sustainability e.g. on innovation and manufacturing measures (greenhouse gases, effluent, water usage etc)

Effectively identify and engage with selected global stakeholders to increase the visibility of pladis’ performance in the sustainability area:
- Work with pladis’ key global stakeholders (e.g. Consumer Goods Forum, World Economic Forum, Mighty Earth and Be Slavery Free for Easter Chocolate scorecard, WWF for palm oil buyer scorecard)
- Lead global sustainability partnerships with the Earthworm Foundation and the Carbon Trust.
- Share pladis’ sustainability approach with Yildiz Holding and eventually sister companies (e.g. GODIVA) to ensure consistent approaches.
- Company-wide across all geographies
- The pladis Leadership Team (pLT)
- Regional Managing Directors and their leadership Teams
- Supply Chain Leadership Team
- Human Resources (employee networks)
- Corporate affairs & Communications
- NGO management (e.g. Consumer Goods Forum, World Economic Forum, Mighty Earth and Be Slavery Free for Easter Chocolate scorecard, WWF for palm oil buyer scorecard)
- Sustainability partnerships (e.g. The Earthworm Foundation and the Carbon Trust)
- Building external reporting and PR
- Yildiz Holdings (parent company)
- A passion for sustainability / ESG combined with leadership and ability to drive change within an organisation.
- University degree
- Background in food and drink preferred, in functions which are key to deliver a sustainability agenda (e.g. SQSE, procurement, supply chain, R&D, marketing).
- Not necessarily a long term career ESG / sustainability; but a need know, and talk, business is essential as is the understanding of environmental issues
- International experience with competence in interacting with people of different backgrounds and culture.
- An ability to think ‘big’, working with the big picture rather than following an incremental step approach
- Ability to quickly understand technical issues and to translate them into concepts easily understandable for a broad audience of non-expert people.
