Exciting opportunity with a SME Ground Investigation Company who are looking for a talented Graduate Geoenvironmental Engineer, based in Stockport.

Overview

Our client's core business is the design and execution of site investigations and the provision of geotechnical and contaminated land risk assessment reports within the construction and civil engineering industry, with a focus on environmental consultancy, ground engineering and engineering geology for Brownfield and Greenfield land.

Their team of consultants and contractors provide specialist services to the environmental and geotechnical industry across a variety of sectors including but not limited to, property and commercial building development; due diligence, land sale & acquisition; infrastructure (pipelines, highways, bridges, tunnels), rail, renewables and flood defence.

This role is approximately 80% site based, carrying out site investigation works. Full training will be provided for all aspects of the role, and professional development will be monitored with most training refreshed on a yearly basis. External training will be also provided, and all expenses incurred will be paid for.

Vehicles, fuel and all expenses will be provided, although use of your own vehicle may be required under certain circumstances (mileage will be paid).

Resposnsibilites

  • Supervising site investigations.
  • Logging soils and rocks to British and European standards.
  • Soil sampling for chemical and geotechnical purposes.
  • Environmental monitoring.
  • Scheduling chemical and geotechnical testing.
  • Assisting with day-to-day general office tasks.
  • Report writing.

Requirements

  • Relevant industry bachelors degree.
  • Minimum 1 year industry background.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management.
  • Good level of understanding and competency in using MS word, excel, power point and outlook .
  • Ability to work to deadlines and excellent planning and organisation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Full clean driving licence.
