Summary:
The Global Demand Planner is responsible for supporting the sales forecasting efforts of an assigned region. This position generates a SKU level forecast utilizing a combination of historical trend data, market intelligence & collaborative inputs gathered from Sales, Marketing and Finance. The results are communicated to the manufacturing and distribution centers globally and are used to drive operational plans through the S&OP process. In addition, they develop and support the Mid-Year and Annual Operating Plans in accordance with corporate procedure.

Responsibilities:
1. Optimize forecast through system and market intelligence.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Operations to develop monthly and annual Demand Plans
  • Analyze demand data to identify trends that impact future forecast values and collaborate with Global Operations and Business Units to agree on the monthly Consensus Demand Plan.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the various business unit & customer demand patterns, providing business intelligence to the historical demand and forward forecasts
  • Participate in product life cycle planning with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to determine unit demand during new product introductions, product maturity and end-of-life periods.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities in forecasting, planning, and execution of the Demand Plan.
2. Lead Demand Planning PSOP activities
  • Collaborate with Business Units on a continuous basis, resulting in formal outputs through the monthly Demand Planning meetings.
  • Present Demand Planning results in the Demand Planning and Pre-Sales and Operations Planning (PSOP) meeting.
  • Identify and communicate major forecasts risks/opportunities, including gaps to financial plans and developing trends
  • Report Demand Planning measurements to the Sales and Operations Planning Committee (SOPC).
3. Monitor Key Performance Indicators
  • Provide analysis & insight to the KPIs, meeting agreed targets and developing action plans to address gaps
4. AOP and Mid-Year Planning Process
  • Conduct in-depth review with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure proper adjustments have been made to reflect future market trends and launch activities.
  • Provide data to be used in the Supply Planning process.
  • Communicate and document results to Operations and Finance for corporate planning.
  • Support Operations and Finance with additional information as needed.

Essential Functions of the Role**:

Work Experience Requirements
  • 3-5 years in an analysis support role working with various functional teams in a matrix organization.

Education Requirements
  • BS/BA in a business or math related discipline

Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of forecasting methods and statistical procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple demands.
  • Proficient in database software applications: forecasting software (e.g. Kinaxis Rapid Response)
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing; training/presentation experience desired.
  • Must have experience working across multiple layers of the organization including Director level, remote business users, manufacturing personnel, customer service, and marketing/sales management.
