Fastmarkets was founded in 1913 (as Metal Bulletin) and is a privately held UK-registered company. It is owned by global private equity firm Astorg, a specialist investor in healthcare, software, technology, business services and technology-based industrial companies

About the Role

The Global Account Manager will meet and exceed incremental revenue growth organic growth of a portfolio of leading global accounts. The portfolio is made up of between 20-25 European headquartered global accounts across multiple market segments and commodities with a typical individual spend of £100K+.

Reporting to the Head of Global Accounts, EMEA, the successful candidate will work with multiple internal departments to secure long term sustainable partnerships with customers while delivering growth to the business. This will be achieved through understanding and aligning Fastmarkets content with the core strategic objectives of our customers across multiple commodity verticals.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

As a Global Account Manager, you will be required to meet and exceed incremental revenue growth through the application of the following principals.

Create transformational partnerships with clients, built on an in-depth understanding of how Fastmarkets products and services can be used to ensure their long-term commercial success. We are metrics-driven, using insights to improve our customers’ experience and our business performance.

Seek to maximize sales productivity by engaging with clients dynamically around their needs and priorities, strategically driving new business pipeline by positioning Fastmarkets products and services in line with prospective clients' needs.

Understand client workflow — how our data and information is procured, disseminated, consumed, and its qualifiable measure of success. We make it our business to know how our added value impacts our clients' positioning within their marketplace.

Being highly engaged with strategic growth initiatives, using them in the most well-rounded manner possible to ensure that they provide benefits to clients and colleagues.

Consistently demonstrate high levels of innovative, progressive thought as part of regular company meetings and sales team cadences, to nurture and encourage a collaborative environment which allows the Global Accounts team to ensure role-model engagement with all colleagues throughout Fastmarkets.

Your Experience

  • Demonstrable track record of achieving or overachieving sales targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Consultative sales and negotiation skills, possess high level of integrity and professionalism through all phases of the selling cycle
  • Proven leadership in managing multi-national global accounts
  • Very strong planning, organizational skills, ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail
  • Competent with systems (Salesforce) for reporting, forecasting, and management of pipeline
  • Strong analytical and attention to detail skills
