The GIS Team (based in Hertfordshire) is the Centre of Excellence for GIS services acroos Ringway and Eurovia. We build apps to capture the data, create dashboards to monitor the service area and undertake analysis work to help make our operations more efficient.
The role is to support the GIS team to continue the ongoing implementation of Esri based web solutions to support critical functions across our business. You will be expected to manage projects through the business ArcGIS Enterprise platform and support internal users in using the system effectively. You will be responsible for data preparation, data management and analysis to meet and exceed our clients’ requirements and expectations. This will include maintaining and integrating geospatial data across a variety of our national highway’s maintenance contracts.
The key tasks are:
- Compile, convert and maintain geospatial highways asset maintenance data in geographic and operational relational databases.
- Assist in maintaining existing GIS applications and systems for the users across our national contracts.
- Lead on project design, scope, and deployment of new Esri based web solutions with both our internal and external clients.
- Ongoing maintenance of the ArcGIS Enterprise platform, including managing users and content.
- Assisting in providing technical support and training to users within the company regarding the maintenance and development of datasets and applications within our Esri Enterprise platform.
- Partner with and support the existing GIS Team to further develop innovative GIS solutions across the organisation.
- Creating the company’s digital record of operational interests within the GIS system.
- Provide support of integration between our Esri environment and clients asset management systems.
- Keeping up to date with the latest developments within the Esri platform and broader GIS systems.
Degree level qualification is preferred but an in depth knowledge and experience in the use of ESRI suite of applications, such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise/ Online and mobile applications including Field Maps is essential.
- Must have excellent analytical, mapping, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with python programming/ scripting would be advantageous
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in office software products to create and maintain complex document and spreadsheets.

- Experience building and maintaining ESRI Dashboards, web applications and integration of mobile applications such as field maps and Survey 123. Knowledge of Experience Builder and other ESRI products that are available right now would be advantageous.
- Applied knowledge of relational database management using SQL and Transact-SQL (T-SQL) in Microsoft’s SQL Server management studio. Experience will include creation of database views and stored procedures. Knowledge of windows functions in SQL would be advantageous
