RAGT is a French breeding company based in Rodez near Toulouse with a breeding and research site, and a successful commercial business in the UK. The company has a multi-crop portfolio and a leading position in cereal varieties in the European market.
If you have a strong interest in working in a laboratory, to help global plant breeding efforts, we have an exciting opportunity to join our established team based at Ickleton near Cambridge, as a Genotyping Technician.
This position is a full-time, permanent role with further development opportunity, working 37.0 hours per week. The role is mostly in a laboratory-working environment, but also with some time spent in the office and occasionally in the glasshouse.
Your prime responsibilities will be:
- High throughput DNA extraction
- DNA genotyping involving robotic liquid handling and PCR
- Data handling and using laboratory information systems
- Lab support including preparing reagents, maintaining stocks and general housekeeping
Your primary skills:
- Computer literate, particularly in MS Excel
- Initiative, a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise and organise in order to meet deadlines
- Laboratory experience preferred, but not essential, as full training will be provided
This position would someone with 'A'-levels or equivalent in Science related subjects.
