Genesis Data Analyst Remote
Job description
Genesis Data SME with detailed knowledge and understanding of the underlying data layer of Genesis required for our client on a contract basis for 6 months plus potential extensions. This role will require you to be on-site in Birmingham 3 days per week.
Your role will be to support the Lead Data Engineer and programme Data Architect to:
- Understand the source system(s) enough to identify source(s) for the migrated data and the required mappings
- Explore the source data to identify quality issues, raising them with the project management, and identifying potential fixes
- Document understanding in the customer’s data management tools
- Create scripts to extract, cleanse, and obfuscate these source data to the agreed target form
- Create reconciliation scripts to validate these transformations
What you'll need:
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the underlying data layer of Genesis
- Experience exploring data in poorly documented legacy systems and with loose requirements
- Exposure to and high-level understanding of Data Extract, Cleansing, Transformation, and Obfuscation
- Relational database design, understanding of the principles of data management, data migration experience, and the use of Alteryx for building ETL pipelines are beneficial
