The General Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the Airline Academy at Gloucestershire Airport.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the UK Management team, consisting of Head of Maintenance, Head of Training, Safety & Compliance Manager, Operations Manager, Customer Support Manager, Marketing Specialist, Recruitment Lead, Sales Lead and Finance Manager.
- An active member of the Skyborne Senior Leadership Team consisting of the CEO, COO, CFO, Group Head of Recruitment, Group Head of Sales, Group Head of Marketing, Group Head of Airline Business, US Managing Director.
- Plan, direct and organise the centre’s activities to ensure Skyborne Airline Academy’s overall goals and objectives are achieved while providing Customers with a quality training experience.
- Seek new ways to improve the Training Centre Operations, quality of training products and Learning Centre profitability on a continuous basis.
- Leading the Monthly & Weekly Management meetings with all direct reports and ensure that the business is achieving the agreed plan on budget.
- Exercise sound cost control measures.
- Working for and with the Organisation’s Board of Directors, to improve and promote the Organisation’s business in all areas.
- Maintaining an effective Management System.
- Monitoring Compliance and the Feedback System of Findings, to ensure effective implementation of Corrective Actions.
- Disseminate the quality policy throughout the training centre to ensure continuous improvement and compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Endorsing and continually promoting the Organisation’s Compliance and Safety Policies and demonstrating their commitment to them.
- Setting clear key performance indicators which each direct report and holding them to account to deliver against agreed goals.
- Supporting the submission of annual financial budgets and monthly forecasts.
- Regularly engaging with trainees and airline customers to ensure Skyborne is delivering the training and service to a high and consistent standard.
- Supporting the development of a succession plan to attract talented individuals to support the growth and future success of the business.
- Previous Airline experience and ideally Flight School management experience.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to motivate and encourage staff, to deal effectively with internal and external contacts ranging from executive to administrative levels.
- Ability to concentrate and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Readily accepts changes and adjusts accordingly.

This position is based at Gloucestershire Airport; however there may be a requirement to travel to any location.
