About the role Balfour Beatty have an exciting opportunity for a General Foreman to join our Regional Civils team based in Plymouth. As a General Foreman you will manage the safe delivery of allocated worksites and projects to the required specification and quality standard; whilst achieving contract programme milestones, approved margin and cash forecasts. Regional Civils undertake projects from East coast to West Coast, from the south coast to the borders of Scotland. From ground investigations and flood defence to complex roads and bridges; primary schools to world class universities; ground-breaking hospitals to city centre living; the depth of our experience and quality of our projects is something for us all to be proud of What you'll be doing Some other key areas will include: - Input into the production of Work Package Plans and Risk Assessments Provide suggestions and recommendations for Temporary Works solutions Identify potential hazards and proactively implement actions and controls Through observation and liaison with the workforce and subcontractors suggests improvement areas Monitor the performance of plant operators and appointed persons Ensures that he Environmental Policy and appropriate parts of Environmental Procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce Who we're looking for You will have the following: - Experience within a Highways & Civils environment Relevant industry experience at management level Experience of monitoring key programme dates, e.g. TM switches, concrete pour dates etc. Holds a valid UK driving license and CSCS Card An excellent range of benefits awaits the successful candidate: - Attractive salary package 42 base hours per week Company car Company Pension savings scheme 25 days annual leave Option to buy extra annual leave days Health cover Refer a friend scheme A whole host of other BB staff employee bens (discounts, special offers etc) Why work for us Day in, day out, our teams deliver amazing projects in challenging conditions; developing, managing and maintaining the vital infrastructure and public spaces that modern economies, societies and communities rely on.
