General Farm Worker/Stockman
Glenbervie Estate, located in south Aberdeenshire near Stonehaven, is looking to recruit a General Farm worker/stockman.
Reporting directly to the estate’s farm manager, your main role will involve general farm labour.
The Glenbervie Estate is under the ownership of the Macphie family, owners of the food manufacturer Macphie Ltd which is also located on the picturesque 2,000-acre estate.
The estate includes Glenbervie Home Farm, a mixed arable farm which boasts an impressive Aberdeen Angus herd as well as potatoes, winter wheat, spring barley and high-quality grass and woodland.
The role
Duties of the role include but are not limited to:
· To support the day to day running of the herd and all other animals on the farm including, bedding down, feeding and animal husbandry tasks associated with livestock and the running of the farm.
· Maintaining the tidy appearance of the general farm, buildings, work areas.
· Tractor and field work as required.
· General maintenance and running of the overall farm which also includes conservation management, arable cropping and food production.
· To comply with Health and Safety regulations
The individual
The Glenbervie Estate and Farm is family owned. You’ll work closely with the Farm Manager as well as the staff team, customers and suppliers, representing the business in a professional manner. Full training will be provided as necessary.
We’re looking for a full-time general farm worker/stockman with experience in below areas:
· Have effective communication skills.
· Be able to work well within a team but alone when required.
· Possess a full UK driving licence.
· Be positive with a can-do attitude.
· Have a willingness to be flexible where possible.
· Show attention to detail.
· Show initiative and is self-motivated.
· Experienced livestock/animal skills would be an advantage.
· This position requires agricultural knowledge, but the suitable candidate will be expected to get involved in all parts of our diversified farm.
This is a full-time position. Salary is dependent on experience with a minimum hourly rate in line with The Agricultural Wages (Scotland) Order. Accommodation may also be available on site.
