Fixed term contract until 31 March 2024 | £21, 575 to £21,968 per annum (Scale D) (pro rata for part time) | 37 hours per week/ 18.5 (Part time) | County Hall, Norwich
We are seeking to recruit 2 Payment Assistants, one full and one part time role on a temporary basis within the Payments Team, Finance Exchequer Services Team.
The Payments Service is a shared service and has responsibility for leading on the Payments Policy and Strategy for the authority. The Payments Service is responsible for making in the region of 450,000 payments per year to over 20,000 suppliers via numerous business systems.
The role of Payment Assistant is to ensure payments are made accurately, timely and according to contractual arrangements. Undertaking appropriate research and communications to ensure correct payments. In addition the role is required to resolve complex supplier and departmental queries
Ideally you will have experience in a Finance environment and will be confident in dealing with customer/supplier queries both pro-actively and promptly.
Knowledge of Financial Systems is preferred and to succeed in this role you must be a team player with the ability to prioritise your workload and work to deadlines. You must have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, enthusiasm and the ability to work under pressure.
