General Farm Worker required for 240 cow Dairy Herd near Stonehouse, Gloucestershire
Far Westrip Farm are seeking a General Farm Worker required to provide assistance with the dairy herd and youngstock. Occasional relief milking will be required, and occasional tractor work.
240 cow unit, 10,000 litres, milked twice a day. TMR fed.
The herd supplies milk on a premium contract and must therefore meet the highest welfare and management standards in the country. You must be able to maintain high standards, follow instructions but also be able to think for yourself on day to day topics.
We expect you to have some experience of working with livestock and milking and an empathy with livestock so you can spot health issues early before they become ill. However, we are prepared to train you as required.
There is no accommodation available with this position, so it would somebody living locally with their own transport.
Salary of £28,000 - £31,000 per annum depending on experience.
Approximately 50 hours per week over 5 days, including weekends on a rota basis.
