As a Staff Marketing Content Designer, you’re comfortable working in a cross-functional and fast-paced environment. You thrive in change and can navigate ambiguity in order to move our Shop’s vision and mission forward. You believe that content design is as much about behavior and emotion, as it is about acquisition and engagement. You can take complex ideas and translate them into effective and cohesive creative messaging leveraged across multiple mediums and channels. And you are a lifelong learner, understanding the value of user feedback and performance metrics, to help improve your craft.
We’re looking for a marketing-focused content designer to plan and create content to support Shop’s product marketing and contribute to our team's skills and growth. This position requires a deep understanding of the role language plays in the product marketing and as a core contributor to executional strategies that exceed expectations.
- Create and iterate on the experiences that make up the core journeys of our buyer, merchants and potential merchants
- Work with Shop’s creative team to craft campaigns of varying sizes across multiple channels, understanding and leveraging their nuances to ensure the right message for the right person at the right time
- Write new product and feature landing pages in collaboration with product marketing managers, designers, and developers
- Run A/B tests on existing content to explore how voice, tone, and vocabulary can affect conversion on a large scale
- Work with our email marketing team to build and improve life-cycle emails and drip campaigns
- Act like an owner who cares deeply about the final output as much as the content involved
- Be a teacher, advocating for the importance of content across the company, and empowering everyone at Shopify to write their own great content through training, learning resources, and support
- Multi-task across simultaneous projects and deadlines, collaborating with appropriate team members
- Experience working across multiple audiences, adapting and evolving brand tone of voice, leading the development and execution of brand narratives with a clear and consistent tone of voice
- Demonstrated ability to create high-quality content that improves customer acquisition and user experience
- Direct experience collaborating with a team throughout the project lifecycle
- Strong grasp of the connection of your craft to business outcomes including growth, strategy, and structure
- Experience demonstrates a history of proactivity, organization, attention to detail, and getting things done
- Hard-working with a "no task is too small" attitude
- Critical thinker who understands the long and short-term impact of decisions to projects
