Fundraising Officer
Location: Mainyard Studios, Unit B08, 35-37 Bow Road, E3 2AD
Contract: 1 year (permanent)
Employment Type: Full-time
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Mon to Fri), 10 - 6pm

Responsible for: The fundraising efforts for iF Charity in the London region.
Context
In response to the devastating impact of the 2008-2009 assault on Gaza, iF Charity began focusing its work on addressing the worsening humanitarian crisis affecting thousands of
Palestinians across the Gaza Strip.
Our mission is to further empower the people of Gaza in their efforts to build strong and resilient communities through poverty relief, education, community development and medical aid.
Job Purpose
The Fundraising officer is responsible for the day-to-day fundraising efforts in the UK in particular the London and South region. The role includes the securement of masjid collection and businesses, TV appeals, online fundraising, sponsorships, street collection, arranging volunteers and the managing of events and challenges with the aim to increase the overall fundraising target set by the management and trustees of the charity in line with its aims, objectives, and values.
Main Responsibilities
1. Fundraising a) To organise and secure mosque collections across the UK, in particular the London and South region b) Create and manage online fundraising efforts to include the usage of fundraising platforms and our website c) To actively engage with the local community in the London and South region with the aim of increasing fundraising activity and funds for the charity d) To fundraise and create awareness in schools, mosque, community centres, businesses, university & college ISOC’s and other external stakeholders
e) Arrange and secure street collections in East London with a team of volunteers f) To coordinate and build a team of volunteers in the East London area with the aim to increase awareness of iF charity and increase fundraising activities g) Research and create innovative ways to fundraise h) Attend public appeals, whether this be a mosque collection, fundraising event, or TV appeal i) Managing the fundraising goals set by the board of trustees and fundraising manager j) To act as the primary point of contact for all fundraising activities in the East London office k) To attend and help events during campaign periods including Ramadan, Dhul hijjah, winter, charity dinners etc
2. Administration
a) Ensuring transparency that public funds are not misapplied and recorded accurately on DM, being accountable to the trustees and fundraising manager as necessary b) To ensure the maintenance of an organised and accessible filing and documentation system c) Record keeping of fundraising report and plan on office 365
3. Other
d) Attend networking events as needed to promote iF Charity e) Support the Fundraising Manager in other duties as required f) To comply with data protection legislation, fundraising policy of iF
Charity and all other charity rules and guidelines g) To support events and live appeals, working closely with the Donor and Comms team when necessary.
