Role Summary

This is a key role within The Rep’s fundraising team that provides vital support for all of the department’s activities and income streams. The successful candidate will be joining The Rep at an exciting time for fundraising as we continue to develop compelling campaigns and prepare to launch new supporter schemes. The team has recently undergone a restructure in order to maximise its potential and enable future growth. This role will offer a great introduction to a broad range of fundraising activities and best practice. In 2021, the team successfully delivered the Open House capital appeal, which alongside celebrating 50 years of the Rep on Centenary Square, raised a fantastic £2.8m to fund the redevelopment of our front of house spaces and help secure our future. There have been many more fundraising successes in recent months including securing funds for a new dedicated creative learning space, providing tickets for vulnerable local families and much more. The Rep’s exciting programme for 2023 and beyond offers fantastic opportunities to generate income and attract and engage new supporters. This role will be integral in helping the team to deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy and reach their targets. The Rep welcomes fresh talent who are open-minded, creative and eager to contribute their ideas and experience.

Our Fundraising team work on lots of really exciting projects and are such an important part of The Rep, helping to make our plans and projects a reality and directly helping talented young people and vulnerable communities and emerging artists. You could help us do great things and make a real difference! As a team we organise special events like costume sales and gala dinners and arrange for our donors to meet with some of our celebrity patrons and supporters.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

This role would provide administrative support for the fundraising team across a wide variety of activities, with specific requirement to:

· Provide day to day support for fundraising activities such as data management and communications.

· Support research and prospecting, helping to identify possible donors, sponsors and funders.

· Assist with income reconciliation.

· Helping to coordinate donor events.

· Support large fundraising events.

· Supporting with donor management and stewardship using our Spektrix CRM system.

· Provide support for the Head of Fundraising and Senior Fundraising Officers.

Specific Responsibilities

General Responsibilities

· Adhere to and implement the guidelines, procedures and policies of the company as detailed in the staff policies (available from the staff intranet).

· All staff are expected to demonstrate an understanding of, and adherence to, our safeguarding policy, including a duty to report any issues of concern.

Any Other Duties

The duties and responsibilities set out should not be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive. The post-holder may be required to undertake other reasonably determined duties and responsibilities within the organisation which are appropriate with the level of the role without changing the general character of the post.

The post-holder may also be called upon to carry out duties that would not normally be associated with the post on a temporary basis where there is a strong organisational requirement for that to happen. The post-holder would be given appropriate training and equipment to carry out any duties of this kind.

This role forms part of the Fundraising team. You will be managed by the Head of Fundraising.

This structure may change from time to time based on business need, but reflects the broad areas of responsibility.

Person specification

You must have…

· Administrative experience.

· Good level of proficiency in using Microsoft software such as Word and Excel.

· Professional and confident telephone manner.

· Good organisational and time management skills.

· Focus on attention to detail.

Terms & Conditions

Period of Work

This is a permanent contract, subject to successful completion of a probationary period of 3 months.

Pay

£10.90 per hour.

Hours

2 days per week

We don’t encourage or expect over time, however, in the event that over time is worked, this may be taken as time off in lieu to be agreed in advance with your line manager.

Holidays

20 days per year rising to 25 with service, plus bank holidays.

The holiday year runs from 1 September to 31 August each year.

Notice period

The notice period will be 1 month.

Location of work

Your main place of work will be The Rep in Birmingham, but you may be required to work permanently or temporarily at other locations locally. You may be asked to work temporarily in other locations in the UK.
