We have a fantastic opportunity for a Service Manager to join our team in a service for people with complex behaviour support needs in Brighton.

Reporting to the Area Operations Manager you will be responsible for the continued positive outcomes for the people that we support through management of the services. You will be responsible for cultivating and contributing to a "continuous improvement" environment and will be proactive in the management of your staff, the rotas, and the budgets for your services.

The most important part of this job is being able to think outside of the box and being someone who is able to think laterally to bring about effective solutions.

Whilst it isn't essential that you have direct experience as a Service Manager, it is important that you have some management experience, and a good knowledge of the health and social care sector.

You will be self-motivated and have a passion for positive change and the confidence to make difficult decisions under pressure. Having strong interpersonal skills will be essential for this role with the ability to build effective relationships with staff and the people we support.

You may need to cover the odd shift in case of emergency. This will require you to do some front-line support work with the individuals we support.

Experience and knowledge within the social care sector, experience of working with working with people with complex behaviour support needs is essential. You should also have experience leading teams in Learning Disability services.

Your working week is flexible covering 7 days per week and will include working weekends. Flexibility is key.

Key Responsibilities: Quality, Leadership and Relationships

As the Service Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the development, including but not limited to:

  • Working with the people living in the service and the team to ensure high-quality person-centred support
  • Monitor the quality of the service, ensuring it is fully CQC compliant.
  • Being an exemplary role model for the team and ensure their continuous development to ensure high standards are continuously met
  • Liaising with the families and other stakeholders of the people living in the service
  • Managing a staff team of approximately 30 Support Workers, with the support of an Assistant Service Manager
  • Delivering high quality customer service to the people we support
  • Budgetary control
  • Complaint resolution
  • Internal auditing & quality assurance
