Our clients has two sites in the Wolverhampton area and is looking for a Full Time Clinic Lead Registered Veterinary Nurse to join them.

The practice is RCVS Tier 2 accredited, a vet nurse training practice. Both sites are within walking distance of a local park, which is ideal if you bring your dog to work or just to get some fresh air and stretch your legs at lunchtime. Wolverhampton is ideally based to access both city life and the countryside. Carmel Veterinary Centre is an RCVS Tier 2 accredited, VNTP, two-site small animal practice based in Wolverhampton. Both practices are within walking distance of a local park, which is ideal if you bring your dog to work or just to get some fresh air and stretch your legs at lunchtime. Wolverhampton is ideally based to access both city life and the countryside. The practice is equipped with ultrasound, digital X-ray, endoscope, bronchoscope and full in house Idexx lab machines. Theya re also in the process of purchasing a dental X-ray machine this year and have lots of other plans and ideas for the future.

The team have recently recruited a fantastic Senior Vet to support the part-time CD and to help them increase the services they offer. The team are registered veterinary nurses, one student veterinary nurse, 2 Animal Care Assistants and a dedicated Clinical Cleaner. The team are friendly and motivated and they strongly encourage CPD and self-development. One of the nurses has just completed her ISFM Diploma in Feline Nursing and they are working towards our Fear Free Status. Three members of the team have trained as Mental Health First Aiders.

This is a fantastic position for a nurse who wants to develop and take their first steps into a management role. Responsibilities will include, managing and co-ordinating theatre, liaising with vets to prioritise procedures and ensuring the smooth running of the surgical caseload. Good knowledge of nurse clinics and consulting would be necessary to ensure that the consulting process is kept up to date. Other duties will include leading clinical audits, clinical coaching for student nurses, maintaining stock, equipment repair/maintenance, leading and developing nurse clinics, keeping up to date SOPs and assisting with best practice within PSS guidelines to retain the accredited status.

You will be based at one site but may be required to work at the nearby site from time to time, to provide holiday and absence cover. The role is for approximately 37 hours per average week. Monday to Friday shifts are either 8 am to 3 pm, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm or 11 am to 7 pm, on a shared rota. Saturdays are 1:4, from 8.30am to 2.00pm. Some flexibility will be required to cover holidays and absences. No Sundays and No Bank Holidays. No on-call. No out of hours.

You will consistently provide excellent patient and client care. At least two years post qualification experience would be preferable and a Clinical Coach Qualification or eagerness to train towards this would be advantageous. You should be comfortable with supervising the nursing team, with the ability to share clinical knowledge to keep improving standards and developing the practice. You would liaise with the management team to ensure the smooth running of the practice and an exceptional client/patient experience. You must be extremely well organised and have lots of enthusiasm and energy to lead, motivate and encourage the nursing team. A calm, friendly, approachable, positive demeanour with a can-do attitude is vital.
