Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer who will be responsible for working on our award-winning Rails application. You’ll be spending most of your time coding and working in close liaison with our CTO to design and develop new features for our clients and support our existing client needs.

We operate in a highly agile environment with multiple product releases each week so this position gives you the chance to hit the ground running and start making an impact from day one. You will also have the opportunity to build on your skills by learning about and working with the many languages and technologies we use.

We're a start-up so life is always busy and never boring, and we need someone with drive and initiative to provide a meaningful contribution to the team as we scale up our business and continue to develop the product for our customers in the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate to deliver solutions from design to release
  • Work directly with the co-founders, proactively contributing to designs with feedback and ideas for improvement
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help improve our processes and tooling to increase code quality, organization and automation
  • Help us deliver outstanding customer support

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience with Ruby on Rails, working on production code.
  • Good understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Happy to work remotely as part of a small team
  • Happy to travel to Brighton once a month for a team gathering
  • Communicates clearly, in a friendly way
  • Knack for writing clean, readable code
  • Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • Based in the UK

Beneficial, but not must-haves

  • Experience with AWS services, particularly S3 & ECS
  • Experience with Git and continuous integration tools
  • Experience with Heroku
