Job description
As a Visitor Experience Assistant and Retail Assistant you will interact with visitors from a variety of backgrounds, ensuring that visitors and collections are safe, delivering key messages, and supporting the operational requirements of the venue to ensure our collections are accessible for all. There will also be a strong retail element to the role at some sites. The post holder will be required to work either Saturdays or Sundays at one or other of our sites (OX1 4AZ and OX44 9PX). There may also be some requirement to work evenings and at one off events. You will be part of a dynamic team, welcoming visitors, engaging them in the collections and inspiring them to make the most of their visit, use product knowledge to inspire our customers and maximise sale opportunities and encourage visitor giving (donations) and Gift Aid. You will follow operating procedures and cash handling regulations. This requires you to take an active part in retail legislation and participate in product training sessions. You will also provide vital work to support security including working with security teams. In the event of an emergency assisting visitors and staff members to evacuate the premises safely in line with the emergency plan.
