Novum Salons Hair and Beauty are on a mission to redefine the salon experience. Born out of the need for something better, our daily goal is to create a space that truly puts their clients and team first. As a brand, we are at the start of our journey, however, the salon has been established for over 18 years (formerly known as Karen Hanson Hair Design) and has a large and expanding client base. The salon is located in Tarvin a beautiful, picturesque Cheshire village 5 miles from Chester and will shortly be undergoing an extensive refurbishment to bring it bang up to date whilst further enhancing our customers’ experience.
About the opportunity
We have a part time opportunity for an exceptional Front of House receptionist. To join and support our very busy and expanding talented team of expert hair stylists. This is a fundamental role in the salon and requires that you have exceptional inter-personal skills, that you are confident and friendly, to ensure the highest levels of client satisfaction and maintaining our high standards, of being a first-class hair salon.
Working Pattern
2-3 days per week including Tuesday and Friday 9am to 5.30pm with the potential for more days as the business realises its growth plans.
Main Responsibilities and skills
- You will be responsible for welcoming the clients on arrival, settling them into the salon until handover to the appropriate stylist.
- On departure you will make sure the client is happy with their service, that they have paid in full and the computer has been updated with all appointment notes and the client has rebooked.
- Answering incoming calls and emails, addressing client queries, and booking in clients.
- You will need to be able to multitask in a busy and fast paced environment.
- You will be responsible for managing client appointments, maximising the stylist time, ensuring appointments are booked in the most efficient way, on our 'gettimely software'.
- Keeping track of skin testing requirements and administrating skin tests.
- Placing orders with suppliers, stocktakes and ensuring the accuracy of the salon stock.
- Experience in social media posting is a key requirement as you will be supporting the Front of House Manager in marketing the Novum brand and its salons. Experience of producing reels, using Canva and Meta Business Suite is therefore an advantage.
- The team at Novum is very supportive and there is an expectation that all staff members will help each other, as necessary. For example, by working together to keep the salon impeccably presented or making refreshments for clients.

Salary: £10.42 per hour
