About the role

As our FE Developer, you will confidently contribute to all FE Development for the SmartSurvey applications. You will be partly responsible for architecting, building, and maintaining them to a high standard. You will encourage other team members to work to the same quality standards and work with senior team members to build a consistent, high-quality approach.

Backend Developers will also refer to you to guide them with simpler front-end tasks that they might be carrying out.

You will collaborate closely with the Product Team to produce solutions and estimate the impact of any changes. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player committed to best practices is required.


Responsibilities:

  • Involved with most front-end application work and some involvement with their CI/CD pipelines e.g., Webpack/Team City/Octopus Deploy
  • Engineer, design and estimate solutions for new feature requests together with the product team
  • Review FE pull requests to ensure high-quality and maintainable solutions
  • Work towards building pixel-perfect, smooth UIs that match designs.
  • Write necessary unit and integration tests and ensure other team members do the same.
  • Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks
  • Interacting with and being led by Senior Front-end Devs and the Lead Front-end Developer to ensure a consistent approach to Front-end development.

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience in front-end with at least the most recent 2 years working in Vue JS 2/3
  • Extensive knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience working with pre-processors for CSS & JS and UI frameworks such as Foundation / Bootstrap
  • Good understanding of Vue.js 3
  • Solid command of cross-browser compatibility, responsive, and accessible solutions with experience of browser testing and debugging
  • Experience with TypeScript & GIT version control
  • Strong JavaScript and jQuery skills
  • A talent and eye for UI design
  • Some experience with software engineering good practices such as OO development, common design patterns, unit testing, secure coding practices (OWASP), and writing clean and neat code and documentation.
  • Experience with agile software development
