Job Overview
We are looking for skilled Translators to accurately translate written documents and audio pieces in various languages while preserving their original meaning, format, and tone.
As a Translator, you will be responsible for carefully reading and comprehending the context of the given material, utilising specialized dictionaries and translation tools, and proofreading the final translations to ensure accuracy. To be successful in this role, you must possess exceptional attention to detail and fluency in English, plus at least one additional language, which will ideally be your native language.
Your primary focus will be to deliver high-quality translated content within specified timescales.
Responsibilities
- Read required materials and documents and research industry-specific terminology
- Convert text and audio recordings from one language to another
- Ensure translated content retains the correct meaning and tone
- Prepare subtitles for videos and online presentations
- Review translated documents to check quality of translation.
- Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy
- Follow up with internal team members to ensure translation meets their needs
- Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g. font and structure)
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as a Translator, Interpreter, or similar role
- Fluency in English and one other language in addition to your native language
- Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors
- Good knowledge of content editing tools
- Familiarity with translation software
- Excellent time-management skills, able to work to deadlines
- BSc in Translation, Interpreting, or similar field
- Additional certification in Linguistics is a plus
- Languages ( Various)
Please note, for this role, you will be paid per 1000 words.
