The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Scientist to join our Formulation Development Group. The position is to work as part of a small team in the development of a range of drug products. Experience in chromatographic techniques applied to support screening work and early product development would be advantageous. Experienced individuals may provide specialist advice and problem resolution for selected formulation developmental and analytical methodologies.
Key Tasks:
- As part of a team, assist in the development of formulations intended for both pre-clinical and clinical use
- To develop oral parenteral and powder in capsule formulations intended for both pre clinical and clinical use.
- Develop, adapt and report analytical methodology and, where and if appropriate, provide resolution to technical problems
- Apply analytical methodologies during the development process of a range of formulations
- Prepare work protocols for approval, critically assess data generated and review data from peers
- Prepare and review reports, quality documents and training documentation
- Acquire/record document data in a manner that complies with GxP and internal policies/procedures
- Perform assigned roles within the team such as equipment responsible operator, training, equipment hardware and/or software validation and the ordering of consumable items
- Work with due regard to health and safety of self and others
- Work flexibly across the site to meet business needs.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- BSc (Hons) or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Experience in the application of analytical methodologies in a pharmaceutical environment is advantageous.
- Good written and oral communication skills
- The ability to critically assess data and have a flexible approach to new work challenges
- Where necessary full training will be provided.
