Who are we?
A & J Scott Ltd is a family owned, leading independent home-grown sawmill based at Wooperton, between Alnwick and Wooler. We have invested heavily in state-of-the-art sawmill equipment in the last decade, and we have plans to develop further production facilities on site in the next two years to meet consistent and growing demand.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced Forklift Operator who will work alongside our production teams.
What matters to us most is that you have a positive attitude to work, and you ensure that everything you move, or load is of a quality expected by our customers. You will take pride in your work and pay great attention to detail.
You will be responsible for the safe movement and stacking of sawn timber packs within various storage areas throughout our site, and electronically record those stock movements via a barcode scanner. Depending on which area you are allocated to, it may involve you loading and unloading trailers where you will need to ensure inbound and outbound loads have accurate paperwork and that the product is free from damage.
You will observe safety and security standards and work to quality standards. You will also be motivated to achieve daily targets.
You will be flexible and willing to learn and train in other departments as and when demand dictates.
This position may include some physical work and involves working inside and outside.

Shifts
The company operates shift patterns which differ depending on which location you will be working within the site. Our normal working days are mainly Monday to Friday and overtime may be available depending on customer demand.

Salary:
£21320 to £29347 per year depending on experience, position and shift pattern.
Discretionary Monthly bonus linked to production targets.
