The Opportunity:
To assist the Warehouse Management team by accurately, efficiently and safely performing varied general warehouse duties, to include picking orders for distribution to Wynnstay sites and safe loading /unloading of vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Accurately picking all orders for supply to our Depots, recording accurately on each line what has been picked, checking out of stocks, collating paperwork for yard picks, ensuring that the correct pallet quantity is recorded
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently, and checking off all deliveries accurately, completing and scanning any related paperwork
- Putting away all incoming goods in an organised fashion, ensuring that all pallets are marked up and put away correctly, and chemicals and hazardous materials are stored correctly
- Reporting any anomalies in stocks, i.e. damaged and out of date products
- Operating a forklift as required taking care to adhere to all necessary safety standards
- Maintaining good housekeeping in the warehouse and keeping it clean and tidy always, maintaining a safe working environment
- Participating in any duties as may be necessary in the interests of health and safety, including COSHH compliance, Spillage clean-up, and safe manual handling
- Servicing any warehouse customers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
- Playing a key role in stocktaking activities
The Person:
The successful candidate will:
- Be able to conduct an active manual handling role and able to lift 25kg
- Possess a Counterbalance Forklift and Reach licence, or similar, or be prepared to undergo training
- Be self-motivated and can work from own initiative
- Possess literacy and numeracy skills and is computer literate
- Demonstrate strong accuracy levels and can pick orders at the desired pace to ensure all orders are completed in time
- Be able to work shifts, with a flexible approach to working hours
- Possess strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
- Have excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail
