Job description
Ivor Forest Products is hiring a Forklift operator/ Shipper / Receiverto conduct loading & offloading operations of various wood products at its lumberyard. This is an important full-time position and the ideal candidate will be an organized person who has experience handling paperwork, using inventory management software, and operating both standard and heavy duty forklifts to load trucks, vans, and sea-can containers.
Special Consideration will be given to the applicant with experience in the lumber industry.
This position is day-shift only with opportunity to work overtime.
Responsibilities
- Daily shipping & receiving activities (loading & offloading Tridem, Super B, Flat Bed, Enclosed Van transport vehicles, & sea-can containers)
- Tagging & recording inbound/outbound units for entry into inventory management software (Milltech Inventory Management)
- Outdoor warehousing activities, yard organization, and loading of wood into drying kiln
- Filling out & signing off on paperwork related to shipping process (Bills of Lading, Delivery Receipts, US Border Customs forms etc.)
Requirements
- Ability to adhere to company handling guidelines for various classifications of product
- Physically able to meet the demands of the job, which includes constant movement entering and exiting forklifts as well as long periods driving in variable environmental conditions
- Basic computer skills including knowledge of sending/accessing/attaching files to emails, and the ability to complete forms by keying information into existing templates (Excel, Word, and Outlook email)
- Previous shipper / receiver experience
- Forklift experience with various capacity machines
- Verbal and written English communication skills
- Positive attitude & willingness to contribute to a safe environment as a central part of a large team of workers
