We are seeking to appoint an experienced Information Governance Manager & Data Protection Officer on a full term substantive basis. As a key and senior member of the quality team this post brings together the highly specialist knowledge and skills required to maintain General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and requires Data Protection Officer (DPO) role alongside the traditional Information Governance manager role. This role is responsible for a variety of activities including managing the Trusts Information & Quality Governance sub-committee and production of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit. The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of the Information Governance agenda across the Trust ensuring staff and operational procedures comply with the following key pieces of legislation, standards and guidelines
The post holder will be the main point of contact across the hospital for advice and guidance around Information Governance, relevant data protection legislation, Information Risk Management, and Freedom of Information (FOI)/subject access requests. In addition this role is the identified Data Protection Officer (DPO) of the hospital. The post holder will act as the deputy Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) ensuring that the information security requirements detailed in the Information Governance Assurance Framework are reviewed, documented, implemented. The role has responsibility for planning, achieving and delivering the hospitals Data Security and Protection Toolkit. The successful candidate must be educated to master’s degree level and specialist data protection qualification with experience of successful management at a senior level with responsibilities for a wide range of IG initiatives The successful candidate is required to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification.
The Information Governance Manager & Data Protection Officer and will act as the deputy Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) ensuring that the information security requirements detailed in the Information Governance Assurance Framework are reviewed, documented, implemented and, where necessary actioned in the case of any security breach forming a Serious Incident investigation. The post will act as a central and reporting point to the SIRO through the Information Quality & Governance sub-committee. The post holder will support Caldicott Guardian ensuring that the Trust has a managed and co-ordinated standards based approach to GDPR, Information Governance and the Caldicott function, providing a point of expert knowledge to senior management and staff providing them with clear policies and procedures that ensure the organisation meets both its statutory and legal obligations.
