Forklift Operative
Tiverton, £29,850pa
Permanent Contract
Hours: Continental shift, 4on, 4off
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Forklift Operative based in Tiverton.
Reporting directly to the Team Leader you correctly operate a Forklift Truck in a safe manner, supplying materials, removing pallets to and from packaging lines to ensure lines run smoothly and efficiently.
You will work across the site’s large automated factory as art of a dedicated packaging team whose primary objective is to meet the packaging schedule. All of this whilst conforming to all product specifications and maintaining a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping. Keeping product and material losses to a minimum, ensuring equipment is maintained and that all Health and Safety requirement are adhered too.
Key responsibilities as a Forklift Operative:
- Ensure all preparations for line changeovers are made and carried out in good time in an efficient/accurate manner.
- Ensure you work in a manner, which keeps packaging materials and product losses to a minimum
- Ensuring F.L.T is maintained to correct standard, conduct & complete daily F.L.T safety checks.
- Unloading and loading stock safely.
- Follow the weekly Production Plan ensuring all internal deliveries come in when scheduled
- Ensuring all pallets cardboard and plastic is returned correctly whilst following all procedures regards loading and unloading safely.
- Working in the warehouse removing full pallets from the depalletiser to the racking area in a safe accurate manner
About you & experiences required:
- Health and Safety awareness
- Work under pressure
- Ability to communicate at all levels and with third parties
- Sound knowledge of good manufacturing practices
- Previous forklift operating experience
- Food related Hygiene course
- 2 years’ experience in a foods or foods related environment
- Computer literate
A standard working month on continental shift looks like:
- Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday Sunday
- Week 2 - Wednesday, Thursday
- Week 3 – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, half day Sunday
- Week 4 – Wednesday, Thursday
