Joe Court Forestry Ltd is a family run business established in 2005. Based near Hascombe, Surrey we are a growing forestry company which offers all aspects of woodland management across the UK. We have a dedicated team of hand cutters and machine operators with a focus on sustainability, high customer service and providing a full range of forestry services. We work with all elements of the forestry industry from woodland owners, forest management companies, local governments, and public bodies.
We are a small but expanding team, with sites across the South of England and a keen focus on delivering the best quality, working hard and continually investing in both machinery and our team. The Role
Due to the continued growth of the company, we are looking for experienced handcutters to join our team. The ideal candidate will know how to fell oak timber, productively coppice chestnut, confidently cutter select mixed broadleaf thinnings and work alongside machinery on ash dieback sites including working in MEWPs. This role requires someone who is hard working, self motivated and thrives in a small team environment with a real passion for forestry.
Following certification is required:
- Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting
- Felling Small Trees up to 380mm
- Felling Large Trees over 760mm
Additional certification in MEWP, climbing and aerial rescue would be beneficial but not essential. Support in additional training and development would be provided as part of employment.
Additional requirements and skills:
- Full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle.
- Excellent communication and teamwork
- Excellent customer service
- Maintenance of equipment
- Good organisation and time management
The role is full-time, site based in South England. The majority of sites are in Surrey, West Sussex and Hampshire.
Self-employment is an option on a full time or part time basis.
Hours would be 40 hours a week.
