Salary: From £41,000 to £43,000 depending on experience + potential bonus + other fantastic benefits

Position Summary
Nespresso has a great opportunity for an Accounting Operations Accountant to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager you will be responsible for the timely completion of all AO activities under your scope as well as the accuracy of balance-sheet positions in relation to Fixed Assets, Stocks, Bank, Lease Liabilities.

A day in the life of an Accounting Operations Accountant…
As the Accounting Operations Accountant, you will deliver excellence through close cooperation with our shared service centre colleagues at Nestle Business Services (NBS) and:
- Ensure the integrity of our Tangible Fixed Asset records:
- Liaise continuously with fixed assets custodians and other business stakeholders
- Monitor assets under construction
- Create request forms for fixed asset register updates in a timely and accurate manner: additions, sales, disposals, transfers
- Accrue for fixed assets as required
- Ensure that fixed assets are capitalised and depreciated according to Nestle Accounting Standards (IFRS)
- Control and approve monthly depreciation
- Ensure full traceability of assets through rock solid processes
- Maintain the local Fixed Asset policy, ensure it is up-to-date at all times
- Ensure the integrity of our Right-of-Use of Assets’ records in relation to boutique leases (under the scope of IFRS16 – Leases)
- Manage new lease creations, lease modifications and ensure correct accounting treatment is applied at all times
- Control and approve monthly depreciation
- Control and approve lease liability amounts
- Produce timely and accurate reporting in relation to Tangible Fixed Asset and Leases:
- Monthly and quarterly capex reporting to our HQ in Switzerland
- Capex data for annual Corporation Tax returns
- Capex data for quarterly tax forecasts
- Capex data for yearly Statutory Accounts
- Other Ad-hoc reports
- Ensure that Stock value in the Balance Sheet matches actual physical stock by location:
- Reviewing and verifying monthly stock position in balance sheet
- Validating stock revaluations
- Resolving stock differences and ensuring necessary corrections are made
- Attending meetings with stakeholders and actioning changes
- Ensure accurate reporting of VAT, Intrastat & Tax information to the necessary regulatory bodies and external auditors by:
- Reviewing and approving UK and ROI Intrastat reports and IE Sales List
- Providing support to Nestle Tax team to ensure tax compliance
- Other Accounting Operations responsibilities:
- Coordinating and acting as key point of contact for internal and external audits
- Ensure implementation of Nestle Accounting Standards
- Ensure integrity of balance sheet positions for Fixed Assets, Stock, Bank, Leases and other balance-sheet accounts, putting actions in place for ageing positions and anomalies
- Lead and implement continuous excellence projects in order to increase accuracy, performance and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with Group and statutory policies
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of Accounting Operations local policies and processes looking at where improvements can be made and driving these changes
What will make you successful?
Ideally you will be a recently qualified accountant (CIMA or ACCA) with previous experience in financial accounts, although we may still consider part qualified. Communication skills are crucial to this role particularly with the stakeholder management aspect of the role. You will also have:
- Knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP with ideally a solid knowledge and experience of IFRS16 application
- Fixed Asset management experience
- Good analytical and mathematic skills using the relevant systems and applications
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to build and manage relationships with business partners cross-functionally
- Hands-on approach
- Capacity to identify and implement new processes and process improvements
- Good organizational and planning skills - able to work independently and prioritise workload
