Job description
Tomlinson is looking for a Foreman to lead our Residential Projects. This individual provides leadership, schedules, coordinates, supervises and ensures the productivity and safety of the work crew, and the public. As a key participant in the relationship with the client, consultants and the company, the Foremen acts as a management liaison and a client interface.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision of the lay out, assembly and installation of various materials in consultation with project superintendent or manager to plan sequencing and schedule for field installation.
Coordinating and supervising daily activities of team 3 to 10 people.
Responsible for establishing a safe work environment that complies Health & Safety program.
Interacting with other company supervisors, inspectors and clients
Following the project plans and schedules and ensuring that the crew’s daily and weekly activities meet production goals.
Ordering through dispatch the proper equipment, materials and workforce for the following days activities.
Obtaining and preparing grade sheets from construction plans
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
5+ years experience in construction industry.
Lead Hand or Acting Forman experience for 3+ years.
Journeyman trade certification in a relevant trade considered an asset.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work on a construction site, Exposure to all elements – snow, cold, rain, heat etc..
Foremen will be supplied with a company pickup truck and are responsible for keeping materials and tools in a secure location.
Long hours required, night and weekend work required, on call after hours in case of jobsite emergencies.
