ROLE SUMMARY:
The role is to assist the Site Manager and Supervisor in ensuring the site is operated as efficiently and safely as possible, in compliance with all the relevant regulations. This is a full-time role and includes being part of the team rota for weekends, Bank holidays and the night on call/ standby rota. This hands-on role requires the daily operation and maintenance of plant, machinery, including telehandlers for the safe tipping, handling and processing of Food Waste deliveries. There will be some involvement with IT and you will be required to assist with maintenance tasks. The Level 2 AD Operative is expected to be an ambassador of the company through championing the Severn Trent Green Power Values and culture.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the safe receipt of product and then maintain the overall operation of the AD process to meet site targets.
- Maintaining and controlling the Plant and vehicle/machinery service routines, requirements, and records as per Company and Plant procedures.
- Complete all maintenance and safety checks as directed by your Line Manager and Supervisor and ensure the site and plant are always presented in a clean & tidy manner.
- Take ownership for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all
- Maintaining relevant Site Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards and records.
- Contribute to the compliance with the Environment Permit (site licence), ABPR, PAS 110.
- Adhere to and promote the Company’s Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality policies in accordance with the Integrated Management System.
- Keep required records as directed by your Line Manager.
- Exemplary and helpful behaviour with clients, colleagues, management and visitors.
- Provide support as part of the night standby and call out rota covering the site 1 week in 3 or 4.
- To provide general assistance across other sites when required.
- Liaising with clients, drivers, operational staff and management connected to deliveries.
- Competently operate the OAS Scada monitoring system, Weightron weighbridge and food de-packaging machinery (Hammermill) to the agreed safe system of work and procedures.
- Supporting with the gas to grid process.
SKILLS:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work with in a controlled environment
- Computer literate
- Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word
- Knowledge of the waste industry and composting processes an advantage
EXPERIENCE:
- First aid
- Operation loading shovel/ tractor/ Telehandler
- Knowledge of working at height and ladder safety
- Abrasive wheel training desirable
- Agricultural background desirable
