Are you a food technologist looking to join one of Scotland’s premier bakeries? Then we would like to invite you to join our technical team at Brownings the Bakers in Kilmarnock.
You will assist in the management of the QMS and factory applications relating to the quality systems. Your responsibilities will be based around the provision of technical expertise, to our customers, suppliers and throughout the business.
You will advise on legal, safety and quality standards and provide specialist technical support to all functions within the business.

What skills you need to have
* To provide technical support to the technical manager and wider team
- Understanding of BRC and retailer standards, Salsa, Compass, EHO, etc,
- Knowledge of food manufacturing, ideally short shelf-life ambient products and meat savouries
- Knowledge of recipe control systems
- Understanding of basic microbiology and food chemistry
- Conversant with Microsoft office
- Attention to detail, organised, and methodical approach to work
- Able to work in a fast paced environment and manage priorities
- Ability to communicate at all levels within the business
* Good understanding of GMP
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* A team player, with the ability to work independently and manage own workload
*Ability to have fun and enjoy being part of a family business nearly 80 years old
Qualifications
* Food Science related Degree
- Food Safety level 3 • HACCP level 2
- Internal auditing qualification
- Familiar with retailer portals and reporting systems: Aldi, Morrisons, etc.
