The Reform Club is one of the oldest, and most prestigious, Private Members’ clubs in London and an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Time (25 hours per week, from 11 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday) food runner to join this historic and iconic organisation.
The Reform Club was founded in 1836, in Pall Mall, in the centre of what is often called London’s Clubland. The founders commissioned a leading architect of the day, Charles Barry, to build an imposing and palatial clubhouse. It is as splendid today as when it opened in 1841.
The food runner role comes with:

The Role
The food runners are responsible for food service in the Coffee Room, our fine dining restaurant. The role holder will work as part of the wider hospitality team to deliver exceptional service to our Members and their guests. This part-time role will be required to work daytime shifts (from 11am to 4pm; 25 hours per week) to support the lunch service, but there will be voluntary opportunities to work extra hours in the morning or evening to cover absent colleagues, as well as working on our private events, which can take place 7 days a week.
Requirements for the role:
To succeed, you’ll need to be able to work seamlessly with a range of other departments as well as your colleagues, and communicate effectively with Members, so teamwork and a fluent level of English are key. This is a role that involves a lot of time on your feet and may involve carrying heavy trays, so would be best suited to someone physically fit and reasonably strong. Ideally, you will also have:
- Excellent communication skills and a good level of spoken and written English.
- A positive, friendly and helpful attitude and demeanour
- The ability and desire to provide exceptionally high levels of customer service to create exceptional experiences.
- Excellent grooming and presentation standards.
- Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
- Previous experience in a similar position and organisation.
- Knowledge of Food Hygiene regulations
- Ability to work on your own or in teams
