Responsible to: FareShare Deputy Depot Manager
Location: Mallusk (Northern Ireland)
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Permanent subject to funding (currently annually)
Salary: Based on NJC Scale 4 point 11 currently £24,054
Benefits: 5% contributory pension scheme and access to Westfield Health Care.

Job purpose
The Food Re-distribution Driver will supervise collections and deliveries of surplus
food to support the Northern Ireland social supermarket initiative.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Drive a FareShare food re-distribution van to various collection and delivery
points throughout Northern Ireland.
- Comply with security and safety of the vehicle on site, on the road and in the
FareShare warehouse.
- Be responsible for daily vehicle checks, ensuring the vehicle is mechanically
operational and roadworthy.
- Supervise volunteers and manage loading, collection and delivery of donated
food to social supermarket pilot partners.
- Complete relevant documentation.
- Be responsible for cleanliness of vehicle.
- Liaise with the public in a professional and helpful manner, ensuring queries or
complaints are resolved promptly whilst promoting organisational core values.
- Comply fully with Health and Safety guidelines, ensuring safe working
practices.
General requirements

- Undertake any other relevant duties as identified by the Deputy Depot
Manager.
- The duties of the post will be subject to review in accordance with the needs of
the organisation.
Person Specification
Essential
- At least 6 months experience driving a van.
- Full clean driving licence for at least 1 year.
- Team player able to motivate and develop people.
- Problem solver and competent decision maker.
- Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Desirable
- Experience of food preparation and storage.
- Experience of taking responsibility for health and safety issues within a food
distribution and/or warehousing operation.
- Level II food hygiene qualification
