The Club

Located on the edge of Nairn’s Victorian West End and nestled on the southern shore of the Moray Firth, in the Highlands. Nairn Golf Club is an idyllic setting with its superb panoramic views over the sea, towards the Black Isle and beyond. With a proud history dating back over 130 years, the Club is one of the pre-eminent private members clubs in the North of Scotland.

Overview of the role

We are recruiting for a career focused F&B Manager for this important role, to lead the efficient operation of the clubhouse and food and beverage services, the successful candidate will demonstrate and instil an exceptional service culture amongst the team creating a welcoming and memorable club atmosphere for its members and guests.

This is a hands-on role, where you will lead and work alongside a dedicated team to meet the needs of the business, responsibilities include overseeing the rostering of clubhouse staff, recruitment of new staff, training and development, compliance with Health and Safety, licensing, and the legalities of running a food operation.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate financial literacy not just in the day to day running of the department, including the management of cash, stock control, staffing budgets and pricing but also the ability to implement strategic and budgetary plans in conjunction with the Board of Management and General Manager.

You will recognise and optimise opportunities to drive revenue and profit in line with established targets and act as a role model who motivates and leads their team, championing the very highest levels of customer care.

  • An in-depth knowledge of food and drink
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire the Team
  • Passion for hospitality/service
  • Proactive business awareness including financial and stock controls
  • Management of statutory requirements, including the bar license
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in event management
