Job description
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Vice Principal: Head of House who fits with the ethos of our school and is passionate about pastoral care and high standards. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure outstanding leadership and management within the academy and will also lead on an OFSTED related agenda.
Our pastoral system is based around four Houses, each of which is organised into mentor groups from years 7-13. Houses each have an identity and compete in sport and other activities. The Head of House builds team spirit, strives to know every child and their family, sets out the standards for behaviour and achievement and ensures that students develop in a comfortable and safe environment. Each Head of House is supported by two Deputy Heads of House (one pastoral and one academic) and a Pastoral Support Officer. There is a designated area in the school building which houses all of the pastoral team. The Houses in the Academy’s House system have been named to reflect local personalities across a range of disciplines - they are: Darwin, Owen, Webb and Woodhall. Each member of staff also belongs to one of the Houses.
This post has arisen due to the promotion of the existing post holder.
The post is open to both teaching and support staff.
The successful candidate will join us at a very exciting stage in its development both of the pastoral team and as a school as a whole.
The full-time, permanent, post is suitable for both experienced teachers and support staff. We welcome applications from forward-looking colleagues who relish sharing their skills and ideas and who want the chance to make their mark in helping to take the pastoral team and the Academy to the next level.
Our pupils are delightful. We are minutes away from Ironbridge Gorge and some beautiful countryside and we'd love to have you on our team. We look forward to receiving your application soon.
We are looking for someone to start in September 2023.
Salary: Negotiable depending upon experience of the successful candidate
