Would you like to use your passion for delivering high quality visitor experiences and be at the heart of telling English Heritage's story? If so, then join our Catering team at Birdoswald Roman Fort and play your part in helping visitors experience more of England's captivating past and preserve it for generations to come.

This is a unique opportunity for you to work at our busy cafe at the heart of Hadrian's Wall. Birdoswald is one of the best preserved forts along Hadrian's wall, with it's impressive fort walls and one of the best preserved gate houses in any fort in Britain.

Our cafes provide the social hub of this historic site and you will play a vital part in creating a warm and welcoming environment where our visitors can relax and enjoy high quality food. Whether you are serving coffee at the counter, cleaning down tables or preparing orders in the kitchen, this is an environment that will keep you busy and engaged. You will be part of an organisation that is committed to ensuring our visitors leave having had a great experience and believe in a great team environment.

As a confident communicator, you will be comfortable building rapport with customers and using your skills in sales to provide outstanding service at all times. You will take pride in the presentation of both yourself and the produce you serve to visitors.
