THE ROLE
We have vacancies available for the role of Food and Beverage Assistant to work as part of our restaurant team. Shift patterns for the role of Food and Beverage Assistant may vary; 8am to 4pm, 12pm or 3pm to finish (~11pm). Management will work with individuals where possible to be flexible with shift patterns.
We provide transport between Kendal - Bowness - Windermere - Ambleside Grasmere.
THE DAY-TO-DAY
Interact with guests professionally, take food and drink orders, assess needs and make recommendations to ensure guests receive an exceptional service.
- Restock still room items and replenish napkins and ensure all service areas are clean and prepped.
- To have a full operational knowledge of all food items, dishes, wines, alcoholic ad non-alcoholic beverages served in the hotel.
- Ensure all items are correctly charged and paid for or signed for at the end of the shift.
- To support supervisors with the training of new employees in line with the service standards of the hotel.
- To ensure all repair and maintenance is reported to the Maintenance team, appropriately and in a timely manner.
- To comply with the policy and procedure outlined in the contract of employment and the Staff Handbook.
- To contribute to the success of the Food and Beverage Department by assisting with the workload appropriately.
- To communicate effectively with the Food and Beverage Department Manager, Restaurant Manager and Food and Beverage Supervisors to address any concerns or issues within the team.
- To respond to complaints from guests appropriately and professionally and follow the correct procedure for progressing this.
- To bring to the attention of the Departmental Manager, Restaurant Manager or Supervisors any factors which may be of detriment to colleagues.
- To ensure interaction with guests is done so in a professional and friendly manner.
- Attend all relevant meetings or training as required.
- Assist with any other tasks which may arise to support colleagues and the performance of the hotel.

ABOUT YOU
Ideally, we are looking for Food and Beverage Assistants who have experience in a front of house position in hospitality or equivalent, although this is not essential.
