We are looking to build on our management team and require a motivated individual who can work under pressure at times to problem solve and to ensure the smooth running of operations at Solihull Ice rink.
Currently there are 30 to 35 hours per week available, you will be required to work weekends and bank holidays. There will be some unsociable hours for shifts, but it is an essential part of the job to maintain the day to day running of the business.
Listed below are some, but not all the responsibilities needed that will be required by the person applying for the position.
Responsible for: The day-to-day operation of the unit in accordance with the requirements of the company, legislation and to ensure effective planning and implementation of our core values at all times. To maintain a high standard relating to health and safety. To ensure strict control of monies taken in exchange for services and that the maximum profit is obtained whilst operating to the required company standards.
Responsible to: General Manager & Senior Management team
Responsibilities: (Not exhaustive)
1. Unit Operation. To ensure all units operate in accordance with corporate requirements. To ensure all statutory requirements are observed and liaise with the Deputy Manager. Manager for assistance in resolving Health & Safety issues as required.Implement and maintain all operating standards and procedures to ensure compliance with company policy.Ensure that all department administration procedures are adhered to with the reporting of all information being on time to allow the correct processing of all documentation.Control of units, on a duty shift basis ensuring efficient operation of all areas to maintain constant service and standards whilst protecting the wealth and stature of the business.Ensure that all company policies regarding the security of stock, cash and other assets in your areas of responsibility are fully adhered to.Ensure all departmental staff adheres to the company required standard of hospitality in order to maximise customer satisfaction.Manage all departmental staff by company personnel policies and procedures and any legal requirements to ensure compliance with all employment contractual terms. Ensure all cash handling procedures are adhered to, to ensure the security of all unit cash.Ensure appropriate and effective communication with all levels within the company.Comply with all reasonable requests made by the company and its management.
2. Staffing. To monitor staffing issues and deal with problems in the appropriate manner. Ensure sufficient and suitably qualified staff are recruited to meet your department and company standards/objectives. Co-ordinate the training and development of all unit staff, ensuring the achievement of company standards with regard to the in-house training programme.
3. Health & Safety. Implement and maintain the company health and safety, hygiene policies in support to the management team to comply with all legal requirements and company policies. Ensure that the maintenance and repair of all internal/external equipment and property meet the company and legal standard. Ensure all matters over which you have responsibility or influences are carried out in line with the company’s health and safety policy.
4*. Food and Beverage duties*. To complete weekly reports for the senior management team, to order stock for the department, to manage the department rotas according to the hours allocated. To ensure that the Bar regulations are kept up to date. To understand Bar operation and regulations such as Challenge 25.
To ensure that the F&B areas are kept to a high standard of cleanliness and that all regulatory paperwork is kept up to date.
The applicant will need to have experience in training staff and to hold a food safety qualification.
The applicant would need to be working and managing the food and beverage areas at our Ice hockey home games and main events such as our boxing events which mainly take place at weekends.
5. Ice resurfacing. To learn to drive and operate the Zamboni Ice resurfacing machine and to produce a good ice surface for both public and training ice slots.
6*. First aid qualified*. To be administer first aid to people within the rink. First aid qualification will be a requirement for the job.
