Role: Talent & Development Delivery Lead

Location: Tyseley, Birmingham (3 days on-site in Birmingham/hybrid working) and Core hours available

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary Package: £42,000 - £48,000 (DOE) plus Company Benefits (inc. 2 x volunteering days)

At a macro level, this role will focus on understanding the organisation strategy and its future capability needs to identify learning priorities across the organisation.

On an individual level, the role will focus on delivering soft skill and leadership training programmes for all levels across the business and will play a key part in the design and development of new initiatives.

With a keen focus on employee engagement, performance and leadership enablement is a must for this role to understand and deliver and as we rebuild the team and learning offering, this is a real chance to own and shape learning initiatives, be a champion in the business for personal development and make real impacts on our people. Plus there is the potential for CIPD training for you (if not already attained) via apprenticeship levy.

Key responsibilities:
  • Development and management of a programme of learning initiatives
  • Support the talent management and succession planning process working with the wider people team
  • Support our performance cycle and related performance improvement activities
  • Support our people strategy by creating a culture of continuous learning and growth, being an ambassador within SCC for personal development
  • Ensure the ongoing evaluation and Return on Investment on all learning interventions
  • Support the ongoing management and development of our mentoring/coaching programme
  • Create and report on L&D updates to capture learning across the organisation (apprenticeships, external learning, team learning)
  • Support our Apprenticeship community with ongoing opportunities for development and engagement
Skills and experience:
  • Proven successful experience of designing, delivering, and reviewing training programmes which have high impact
  • A strategic thinker, with the ability to set and deliver against long term plans whilst also delivering quick wins into the business
  • Able to confidently deliver on a range of topics including personal development and leadership.
  • Knowledge of developments in learning delivery methods (Instructor Led, E-Learning, LMS Modules, Self-Study Modules)
  • Strong people management skills
