An opportunity has arisen for a Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to join our professional and friendly team at The One Warwick Park Hotel, Tunbridge Wells. The hotel comprises 39 bedrooms, meeting rooms, a variety of event spaces as well as The Brasserie and bar. You will be playing a vital role in the everyday operation of the hotel and will be responsible for creating a great first impression. Due to the nature of the job role we are currently only accepting applications from candidates aged 18+, looking for full-time permanent employment.
In return we are offering an annual salary of £29,050 plus a share of the service charge and tips. Key Responsibilities:
- In the absence of the F&B Manager, take responsibility for the management and operation of all hotel catering requirements: including restaurant & bar, event catering & room service
- Ensure the efficient and effective delivery of food and beverage operations across all points of sale to the highest service standards and performance levels and in line with sales/revenue targets
- Work closely with the Events Manager to ensure that the F&B elements of all booked events, weddings etc. are efficiently planned and delivered
- Ensure that all customers receive a high quality service every time from their arrival through to their departure
- Alongside the F&B Manager take responsibility for all F&B budgeting, forecasting and stock ordering
- Effectively manage and organise the F&B team including; managing staff rotas, authorising and administering time sheets, annual leave etc.
- Support and develop the F&B team to perform to the highest standards through coaching, training and motivation and support with performance reviews in line with the hotels policies and procedures
- Ensure effective lines of communication, both upwards and downwards, between management and the various F&B teams through regular team meetings and briefings
- Actively seek and identify opportunities and innovations for business growth & development
- Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
Essential Skills:
- Experience of working in positions of high responsibility in the hotel or food and beverage sectors and managing teams of at least 20 staff
- Significant food and beverage experience (5 years minimum)
- Full understanding of food safety and hygiene
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience of working in a quality bar operation/catering environment
- Well presented & flexible attitude
- Customer focused and polite manner
- Experience of working within a team
- Numerate and familiar with cash, stock rotation & control procedures
