Bar Assistant
BAR ASSISTANT
RESPONSIBLE TO: Bar Supervisor, Duty Manager, Head Chef, General Manager
ROLE OVERVIEW:
A Bar Assistant at CHLTC, provides excellent service to all Members and Guests at the Club. This person must have excellent Member Service Skills, who delivers all aspects of their job in a friendly, smiling helpful manner. Who can remain calm and smiley under pressure. Goes that extra mile to make our members have a wonderful experience. Has first-class communication skills, engaging with our members consistently, even with the most difficult Members and can turn a difficult situation into a good one.
SPECIFICALLY
PRINCIPLE RESPOSIBILITIES
· Delivering food and drink to tables
· Serving drinks at the bar
· Making excellent coffee
· Give advice on wine and food in a knowledgeable manner
· Ensuring tables are cleared as soon as Members are finished. This means any condiments, napkins or other items not now needed, ensure the table is cleaned whilst Members are still present and when they leave
· Ensure that chairs are neatly placed under tables when not in use
· Ensure that knives, forks and napkins are plentiful in silver tubs
· Menus are out on the table and clean, no stains inside or on the cover
· The bar area surfaces, machinery, floor and any containers are immaculately clean
· The restaurant area, floor etc are clean
· Opening and Closing procedure are completed on a daily basis
· Downstairs area is clear of any lunch/dinner items (to be supported by the DM)
· Service Training Standards are delivered and scores over 85-97%
· Tablecloths are laid and candle lights are lit for the evening
· Adheres to the revenue and cash handling procedures
OTHER
· To help with deliveries
· To undertake any other duties commensurate with the post’s level of responsibility
· To ensure that all bar responsibilities towards achieving over 85% in the H&S audit
· Inform your line manager or other managers when low of stock
