Overview
Euroforest is the largest independent timber harvesting & marketing company in the UK. We harvest and market in excess of 2.7 million m³ of timber per annum.
Euroforest work closely with landowners to develop and demonstrate innovative ways of dealing with diseased Ash trees through traditional and mechanised arb methods. Euroforest provide landowners with appropriate resources to deal with diseased trees of all species, sizes and in any location.
The Position
We have recently developed an Arboriculture Team within Euroforest and are looking to expand this business into the North of England and Scottish Borders. As such we now require an Arboriculture Contract Manager to head up this exciting business opportunity. This role will be part of our already established Arboriculture Team but will have responsibility for developing this region and working with new and existing clients, private woodland owners and state forests.
The position is full time Monday to Friday, based in our Carlisle office but will require travel around sites in the North England and Scottish Borders.
Experience of writing tenders would be beneficial but not essential. Some of the projects we work on involve the use of mechanised Arb equipment. We work with landowners to mitigate damage as a result of Ash Dieback. Excellent knowledge of health and safety, risk assessments and tree safety are an essential part of this role. A company vehicle and fuel card are provided.
Key Responsibilities
· Identifying diseased trees and proposing action
· Main point of contact for the client, direct staff, and subcontractors
· Pricing work packages
· Maintain prudent financial management over contracts
· Ensure contracts progress on track and on budget
· Undertake regular safety audits
· Produce risk assessments and method statements
· Regular performance updates
Skills and Experience
· Minimum 2 years’ experience in arb, mechanised arb, forestry or commercial harvesting
· Level 3 Arboriculture
· Driving Licence
· Excellent standards of health and safety
· Up-to-date industry knowledge
· A flexible and confident approach with good problem-solving skills and initiative
· Excellent reporting skills
· Good communication skills and the ability to build and maintain excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders
· Excellent IT Skills, especially Excel & Word
