Job description
Do you want to create a better place for people, wildlife and the environment? Do you want to be part of a team that is delivering the biggest capital investment programme for flood and coastal risk management in Wessex and protect as many properties as possible from flooding and coastal erosion? If so, read on!
You will be involved in all parts of the business planning cycle, from helping with the allocation of funding, to monitoring in year capital funding or reporting on numbers of properties protected by our capital schemes. We also report on the wider benefits of the capital programme such as environmental improvements or carbon efficiencies. You could be assisting in the development of bids for future year’s programmes. You will also be involved in helping produce data for reports that support the Area Portfolio Delivery Board or the Regional Flood & Coastal Committee. Or you could be asked to respond to data requests for example on where funding has been spent.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, good communication and networking skills, ability to develop and build good working relationships, and be able to work as part of a team. You will need to be organised, willing to undertake a range of different activities to support the whole team and be comfortable working in a dispersed team.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
