At Victoria Plum we are looking for our next Data Insight Analyst to join the growing Data & Insight team on a Permanent or Fixed term basis
The Role
In this role you will be supporting with the analysis, reporting and data-led problem-solving that underpins our understanding of customer behaviour which in turn informs profitable acquisition and retention strategies, and ensures that the correct insights are drawn from the data and applied in the best ways to maximise value.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Use EViews software to create and maintain econometrics models that:
- identify and put a value on drivers of sessions and revenue performance.
- model how individual driver inputs work together to create the outputs.
- forecast future performance and create different scenarios that put a value on different input variables using historical performance (fact) combined with planned future activity and assumptions (forecast).
- Use Big Query data warehouse to acquire data with SQL transformation to calculate or join data sets if required.
- Create Looker Studio Reports to enable stakeholders to visualise data, identify trends and measure changes in performance that result from business decisions.
- Review, and update as required, key customer/business performance metrics with self-serve options where suitable.
- Explain or present findings in meetings and answer questions from curious stakeholders who are keen to understand and / or challenge thinking to test that optimal commercial decisions are being taken.
We are looking for someone with……
Mandatory
Technical:
- Highly skilled with Google Analytics
- Proficient with Looker Studio / Tableau
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- A solid statistical knowledge
- Experience with SQL / BigQuery
Problem solving:
- Highly numerate and confident with a statistical approach
- Curious for knowledge and self-motivating
- Able to work autonomously with a clear business problem that matches data and analysis to business hypotheses.
- Structured problem solver
Personal:
- Communication skills that can explain analytical techniques es and assumptions used to non-technical people.
- Able to weigh up and prioritise data sets that make best use of what is available and focus on enabling value added decision-making.
Considered and credible communicator who uses facts to draw objective conclusions from data
Desirable
- A background in Insight/Data Analysis or Data Science.
- Retail or ecommerce business experience.
- Knowledge of Econometrics, regressions techniques and their application to a retail business. Experience of using EViews.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to select and summarise data that supports or opposes a hypothesis.
