An opportunity has arisen within the fleet department to join the team as a vehicle cleansing operative. The fleet department at Enfield council manage all council vehicles and equipment and as part of this vehicle management we undertake a regime of cleaning and vehicle inspections to ensure that fleet is in pristine condition at all times. The role requires the successful candidate to be flexible in their approach and be willing to undertake additional duties as and when required. A current driving licence is essential for the role as well as a willingness to learn and qualify in the driving of large goods vehicles and also the operation of a range of plant and equipment

Duties include:

• Undertake a rota-based wash schedule as required, as well as Service and MOT washes as required by the fleet workshops
• Interior Body cleanses to help maintain the operational efficiency of the vehicle. This involved the cleaning and jet washing of the interior bodies of refuse collection vehicles
• Maintain good housekeeping, keeping the areas of the was bays, clean tide and fee of debris. Ensure there is no excessive build-up of debris that may foul drainage systems.
• Damage monitoring/reporting on all vehicles presented for washing. Photo evidence taken by the operative. Photo’s include registration number (identification of vehicle concerned) and pictures of any damage noted. This is then to be verbally reported to the Workshop Manage/Fleet Manager with the photographic evidence
• Monitor contractors/customers during their time on site and report / inform if any issues arise. As we strive to operate the was on a commercial basis the operative will be expected to ensure that any outside customers vehicles are shown where to park and also ensure they washed and processed in a speedy manor to ensure their time on site is kept to a minimum. Any issues with customers to be directly reported to the workshop manager
• Ensure vehicles are driven safely. Report to the line manager any incidence of poor driving whilst on site by council employees or customers.
• Keep the site clean, ensuring that at all times the wash areas are free from debris and build-up of dirt and debris, as well as all other areas of the Morson Road site
• Complete vehicle wash record sheets when collecting and returning to the various departments
• keep the wash areas clean and reporting of any wash equipment defects.

Other duties including the collection and re-delivery of customer vehicles following service as and when required. There is also a requirement to assisting with the current winter maintenance program which could include rota work and out of hours work loading gritting vehicles as and when required
