Location: DHL Sainsbury's - Bedford (Marsh Leys)
Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Shift pattern: Any 5 of 7 days 37.5hrs per week (06:30-14:30)

Primary purpose of role:
- An opportunity has arisen for a First Line Manager. You will be responsible for leading the work activities of a team of colleagues; providing effective communication, leadership, motivation, training, development and team management. Ensure legal compliance at all times.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the team to ensure a safe, secure, clean and fair work environment for team members.
- You will need to have GCSEs or equivalent in Math's and English.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must have good level of experience working with Microsoft Excel.
- Flair for planning and organization.
- Knowledge of H & S regulations.
- Thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Deliver team performance reviews.
- Deliver and promote effective communication.
- Manage investigations and hearings in line with HR policy.
- Ensure compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Ensure company policies are communicated, applied and enforced.
- Preparation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
- Effective absence management.

Requirements:
Essential
- Experience of team management within a distribution environment.
- Good analytical & numerical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, motivation and planning skills.
- Excellent communicator (verbal & written).
- Knowledge of H & S requirements.
- Must have high level of experience working with Microsoft Excel.
- High school / secondary education.
Desirable
- Experience of Employee Engagement Projects.
- Experience of an automated warehouse environment.
- Experience of a unionized working environment.
- Experience of managing a large team.
