About the role

We are thrilled to announce an exceptional opportunity to work in a dynamic studio alongside the renowned photographer Tim Flach. This position of 'First Assistant' offers the chance to work on both personal and commercial projects, making it an exciting and diverse role.

Tim is currently embarking on his next book, which will focus on cats. Therefore, it would be advantageous if you share our passion for this subject matter.

The key to this role is the ability to see the bigger picture while paying attention to the finer details. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in creative/studio photography and possess excellent office administration skills.

We are seeking a practical, organised, proactive, and articulate individual with an enthusiastic nature. Additionally, the ability to solve problems and think of solutions and conclusions is crucial.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting on shoots
  • Setting up lighting and equipment for shoots.
  • Management of equipment.
  • Research and production of personal/commercial shoots.
  • Driving van to/from shoot locations when required.
  • General management of the studio.
  • Liaise with agencies and galleries on all related jobs.
  • File management and retouching.
  • Writing clear, concise emails.

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years of photographic assisting experience.
  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good understanding of standard industry approaches to production
  • Excellent photographic/technical understanding with proficiency in Mac, Photoshop, and Capture One.
  • Ability to identify and prioritise important tasks under pressure
  • Highly organised and impeccable attention to detail
  • Problem Solving
  • Driving Licence

This is a full-time permanent position based in Shoreditch, London so the ideal candidate would need to live in London or surrounding areas.
